Jacob :: 12 Months

UPDATE ON FEB. 6: We went to Jacob's well check today. He weights 27 pounds 7 ounces, is 32 inches long, is still off the charts, is going to cry it out at night and we're starting the weaning process down to one feeding just before bed. He's still got a bad yeast infection from antibiotics, but we're doing everything we can. Because he has nursed so long and so well, textures are going to take longer to get used to, so we're going to stick with the Stage 2 foods and keep introducing new things! He'll eventually come around!

Jacob turns one year old today!
We started out the day with a sleepy rendition of Happy Birthday.

He continues to scoot everywhere. Sometimes I think he'll start crawling, but he always keeps that leg under him. Cautious kid? Maybe. Being a boy, I'm not sure that's the case. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

We're almost back to a good sleeping schedule. He's only waking up twice at night and still taking two good naps during the day. I have a feeling I'm going to get the nod from our pedi to invest in some ear plugs and let him cry it out. I'm not sure what I'll do with a full night of sleep.

The whole table food and weaning thing is still so confusing to me. I'm pretty sure I'm just a wimp and need to let him gag it out but it's just scary. That's something else we'll be seeking advice from our pedi on.

He is equal parts ornery and cute. We are in a parenting Bible Study, and one thing we learned is that even from early on, they're fighting for control. And he is. We have some started disciplining as he sometimes finds hitting people in the face amusing when he isn't getting what he wants.

His party isn't until next weekend and i'll definitely be posting about it. Here is 12 month picture:
